Canada Post, PSAC/UPCE exchange opening statements as negotiations begin


On October 18, the Corporation met with the PSAC/UPCE bargaining team and shared presentations on Parcels and Smartmail Marketing™, as well as a financial overview which highlighted the business challenges associated with financial self-sustainability.

The parties also met on October 19 to exchange opening statements, which included a summary of each party’s proposals for this round of negotiations.

The collective agreement between Canada Post and PSAC expired on August 31, 2016, but will continue to apply as per the terms of the Canada Labour Code.
